Junior Flex Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Junior Java Developer will create RIA GUIs using Adobe Flex as specificed by documented and communicated requirements from the head of engineering, working with internal and external users to improve the quality and usibility of new and existing flex based GUIs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Must have a Masters degree in Computer Science or related field, with a high GPA * Outstanding programming skills in at least one language (i.e. Java, C/C++) * Work/School experience or personal interest in user interface design a plus * Experience with ActionScript 3.0 and Adobe Flash * Experience with Flex and Flex SDK * Flex data modeling and integration with remote services such as Blaze DS * Strong skills with HTML, Javascript, CSS, and XML * Scripting skills
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Java EE, JDBC, SQL skills a big plus * Any one or more of MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle Database experience * Experience using Source Control Management tools * Experience in Linux and Windows operating systems * Excellent English language skills – verbal and written * Experience with Java toolkits and frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, etc. * Expreience with GUI toolkits and frameworks such as Flex IDE * Good understanding of web-based technologies, XML processing, and modern application Servers in a Java environment * Good understanding of SOAP, Webservices, Webservices security * Experience using Netbeans or Eclipse or equivalent modern IDE * Ability to translate requirements into concepts and elegant user design, interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience * Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail + Experience working with various departments within a product team + Team player * Expertise in visual design using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator is expected. * Prototyping skills using tools like Flash, Flex, Dreamweaver. Knowledge of Adobe Flex, very much preferred * Experience researching and using open source toolsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Understand and translate GUI requirements into finished GUI products using Adobe Flex * Create requirements based on technical conversations towards creating GUIs * Work with the NextGate IT staff to setup local systems for testing * Work with the NextGate QA staff towards setting up test environments * Work with the NextGate Documentatoin staff towards creating user and reference guides * Create demonstrations towards pre-sales activities to be used by the sales and marketing groups * Create and employ use cases towards creating easy to use and productive GUIsBENEFITS
