Full-time Urgent! senior Flex and Air application developer: UK

at PixelMags in London

PixelMags require a senior Flex and Air application developer to lead the development of a new, green-field, application to be deployed in browser and on the desktop. The senior developer will be involved in the initial project architecture and design and implementation through to initial release. The app will leverage our existing JSON REST APIs and implement features from our iPhone and iPad applications where appropriate.

Strong knowledge of the Flex Framework (4.0), ActionScript (3.0) and Air integration and deployment. The successful candidate will be experienced in, and have a theoretical interest in, object orientated software development using the MVC pattern. A knowledge of offline data storage and decrypting media files using ActionScript is preferred. Other technologies used frequently, and which the candidate should have a working experience of, include: JSON, HTTP, XML, REST, Webkit specific XHTML CSS & Javascript, OpenSSL crypto keys and certificates. We use Macintosh computers for development and Git for version control.

The successful applicant will possess a methodical and meticulous approach to software engineering; both programming and process. Good communication skills are needed to document the process and work effectively with the small engineering team.

This is a full-time, fixed-term (probably 3-4 months) position, ideally working from our office in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, UK. Please send a CV (including Screenshots, URLs and roles) and a brief letter/email of introduction to mark@pixelmags.com benjamin@pixelmags.com Rates/salary negotiable depending on experience.

NO agencies or companies tendering please.
