Flex Developer - Contract-to-Hire

Our client in the Los Angeles area has an opening for an experienced Flex developer. The client is open to contract or contract-to-hire candidates.
Position:
• Developer specialized with Adobe technologies, with emphasis on Flex and ColdFusion. (Flex more important than ColdFusion)
• Either Contract Only or Contract to Hire. Initial contract term is 6 months.
Responsibilities:
• Take lead role in design, development, support, upgrade, maintenance, enhancement, and documentation of custom business applications.
• Mentor junior developers with the Adobe technologies and best practices, including any frameworks utilized.
• Work with DBA and other developers to design databases. Use Transact-SQL to write database stored procedure on MS SQL server 2005 / 2008.
• Promote best practices and methodologies and draft technical documentation and workflow diagrams using Visio.
• Conduct demonstration of software to business units and clearly explain features to the common users.
• Maintain regular attendance, and report status to IS management.
Requirements:
• Degree or advanced degree in relevant major or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of software design and development experience.
• Extensive knowledge and involvement in the analysis, design and development of custom business software, preferably in the insurance or financial industries.
• Thorough knowledge of software development life cycle is required. Including design and development using object-oriented architecture and programming.
• Full understanding of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture).
• Required Programming Languages: Flex (up to version 4.5) & ActionScript.
• Preferred Programming Languages: ColdFusion, C#, ADO.NET, and JavaScript
• Preferred Database Experience: MS SQL Server and T-SQL Stored Procedures.
• Platforms: Windows
